Statue Dance: The Trajectories
of the Primaries, performed by
The Experimental Dance Workshop (EPW)
The work explored systems of organising (and disorganising) temporal
and physical space through play and dance forms, simultaneously
re-membering the utopian idealism of 'modern' theatre and ballet.
Biography
Shane Hasemans explores areas pertaining to the politicised exhibition space, urban life and its potentially subversive iconography. His work centres around key points he is currently investigating in his doctorate ‘Dis/Organising Refusal- Towards smooth Space: The Flaneur, Nomadic Thought and the Situationist Drift’. Frequently addressing context and site, Haseman deploys architectural structures and emphasises the relocation of emblematic objects. Dealing with the sense of and state of ‘being’, but within a field of composite factors, he articulates historical and theoretical interpretations of existential location.
