For Terminus Projects Bronwyn Bancroft has appropriated and manipulated text taken from various sources, in order to expose existing stereotypes and hypocrisies within Australian history. Giving voice to Indigenous experiences and innate knowledge, Bancroft has printed bold texts onto t-shirts to be distributed within the community.This project aimed to incite discussion between the indigenous and non-indigenous population, and present accurate intepretations of our collective history.


Biography
Bronwyn Bancroft is a senior Indigenous artist and designer descended from the Goori people from the Bundjalung nation of north-western New South Wales. Having grown up in the small country town of Tenterfield, Bancroft is strongly influenced by Indigenous culture and the environment. Bancroft has her own textile and design company called Design Aboriginals, has illustrated and written a number of award winning childrens books, has realised significant public art works, has work collected in major museums and has a long history as an indigenous activist.
